Job Description

Founded in 2017, Obsidian Security was created to close a critical gap: securing the SaaS applications where modern business happens—platforms like Microsoft 365, Salesforce, and hundreds more.

Backed by top investors including Greylock, Norwest Venture Partners, and IVP, we’ve built a complete SaaS security platform to reduce risk, detect and respond to threats, and prevent breaches at the source. Our team includes leaders who helped define the categories of endpoint and identity security at CrowdStrike, Okta, Cylance, and Carbon Black.

Now, we’re transforming how SaaS is secured—in the era of agentic AI.

Today, Obsidian is trusted by global enterprises like Snowflake, T-Mobile, and Pure Storage. We protect more than 200 organizations across North America, Europe, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, Australia, and New Zealand—including many of the world’s largest Fortune 1000 and Global 2000 companies.

With strong global momentum, a growing partner ecosystem including SentinelOne, Databricks, and Google Cloud, and a major fundraise on the horizon, we’re scaling quickly toward long-term growth and IPO readiness. Join us as we define the future of SaaS security!

As the HR Generalist, you will be a key member of the Legal & HR team at Obsidian, playing a pivotal role in shaping the future of our organization by supporting people processes, systems, and leading both onboarding and offboarding programs. You will report directly to the Sr. Director of HR and serve as a trusted resource for employees throughout the entire employee lifecycle. This role is essential to ensuring smooth HR operations and fostering a positive employee experience.

About the Role:

Onboarding & Orientation:

  • Create, coordinate, and deliver an engaging, scalable onboarding experience for all new hires across global time zones.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition, hiring managers, and IT to ensure all new hires are set up for success before Day 1.
  • Continuously enhance onboarding content with business partners to reflect company updates, culture, strategic goals and ramping needs.
  • Facilitate new hire orientation in collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure a seamless and enriching experience.

Offboarding Management:

  • Streamline and manage all aspects of employee offboarding.
  • Administer exit surveys, coordinate transition logistics with managers, and process offboarding through our HRIS (Rippling).
  • Ensure clear communication with departing employees regarding final details, timelines, and next steps.

Employee Relations & HR Support:

  • Act as the first point of contact for employee HR inquiries related to benefits, policies, time off, and more.
  • Provide timely, accurate, and empathetic support to employees, escalating issues as appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in Rippling.
  • Support HR initiatives related to compliance, documentation, audits, and reporting.

Employee Lifecycle Coordination:

  • Own the execution of onboarding, offboarding, and employee transitions globally.
  • Ensure each stage is handled with consistency, care, and attention to detail.

Global Payroll & Benefits:

  • Partner with the Finance team and HR Operations Manager to support accurate and timely payroll processing across multiple countries.
  • Assist in the administration of global employee benefits programs, including enrollments, renewals, and responding to employee questions.
  • Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to resolve any benefits and enrollment issues.

HR Systems & Reporting:

  • Perform HR data entry and audits to ensure accuracy of data in systems.
  • Help drive data accuracy and process improvement across HR systems and tools.

About You:

  • 3+ years of experience in HR, preferably within a tech startup
  • Prior experience managing employee onboarding and orientation programs
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a remote setting
  • Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and sound judgement
  • Self motivation with a collaborative and customer-focused mindset
